More Reviews

"The staff are very warm and welcoming, by the first time we searched and contacted them, they knew our concern and took their time listening to every detail of our stories. Ms. Faye and Mr. Thomas are very patient, knowledgeable, highly skilled professionals. They have a very good listening heart to our child's growth and improvement. Our daughter is always looking forward in meeting everyone, showing how comfortable and happy whenever our daughter visits them. Our memorable experience at the center also improves our parenting style how to better understand and listen to our child's needs. We highly recommend the team. Special mention to Ms.Suzie and Yaya for always keeping in touch with us and for being a great part of our journey. We wish you all the best!!!"

What is our method

Sequentially Planned Integrative Counselling

An approach to therapy that combines different therapeutic models in a structured, step-by-step manner to suit the individual needs. Rather than using multiple approaches all at once, SPIC follows a sequential process where different therapeutic techniques are applied at different stages of therapy, depending on the individual progress.

Emotional empowerment

Expressing  helps individual feel heard, supported, and understood, improving emotional regulation, and self-awareness.

Emotional processing

In this phase, the individual becomes more aware of the issues and may experience a sense of release. They may also show resistance.

Story Reframing

Individuals reframe their stories, empowering them to reshape identities, overcome challenges, and embrace new possibilities

Thought restructuring

This phase help change negative thoughts and behaviours, improving well-being by fostering healthier thinking and coping strategies

Behavior modification

During this phase, the individual actively explores, refines, and assesses new behaviours as they navigate and adjust to their environment

Independence

and resilience

In this phase, the individual achieves a sense of resolution and gains the ability to confidently adapt to future challenges on their own.

FAQ

All you need to know

  • How can parents tell if their child needs counselling?
Parents may consider counselling for their child if they notice significant changes in emotions, behavior, or daily functioning. Signs that may indicate the need for professional support include: Emotional Distress: Frequent sadness, anxiety, irritability, or mood swings. Behavioural Changes: Withdrawal from family or friends, increased anger, or difficulty managing emotions. Academic Struggles: Sudden decline in school performance, lack of focus, or loss of motivation. Sleep or Appetite Changes: Trouble sleeping, nightmares, or changes in eating habits. Difficulty Coping with Life Changes: Struggles with divorce, loss, bullying, or major transitions. Self-Harm or Risky Behaviour: Engaging in self-harm, substance use, or expressing thoughts of hopelessness. If these signs persist or significantly impact daily life, seeking guidance from a counsellor can help provide the necessary support and coping strategies.
  • What is the objective of initial consultation?
Initial consultation is to understand the client’s concerns, background, and goals while building a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. It allows the counsellor to assess needs, discuss treatment options, and collaboratively establish a tailored plan for support.
  • How long does each session last?
Therapy sessions typically last between 50 to 60 minutes, though session length may vary depending on the counsellor’s approach and the client's needs. Some extended sessions may also be available based on specific requirements.
  • Are parents required to join their child's session?
No. All sessions are one-on-one with your child, personalised to align with their therapy goals, as determined during the intake session.
  • Can parents join their child's session?
Parents may sit in during their child’s session, depending on the child’s needs and the counsellor’s recommendation. In some cases, parental involvement can be beneficial, while in others, a private space may help the child express themselves more freely. The counsellor will discuss the best approach during the initial consultation.
  • Will attending a session create a medical record for my child?
No, attending counselling will not create a medical record for your child—this is a common misconception. Sessions are completely private, and no one will know your child is receiving counselling. Our counsellors adhere to a strict professional code of ethics, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. Information shared during sessions will not be disclosed outside our center unless: You provide written consent. The counsellor determines your child is in immediate danger. A court of law requires disclosure. Your child’s privacy and well-being are our top priorities.
  • Do you accept walk-ins?
All sessions are by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule a session—we wouldn’t want you to come by unnecessarily!
  • Which payment methods do you accept?
